Pacific Shipping: Every driver seat filled.
How Pacific Shipping & Trucking Filled Every Driver Seat with Array HQ's Direct Leads
Pacific Shipping & Trucking fills every driver seat now, sourcing from Array HQ and Facebook alone. Cassandra Ridder had inherited a platform that resold the same driver leads to everyone on its books — drivers were fielding a hundred calls a day and answering none of them.
Founded in 1984 by Keith Robertson, Pacific Shipping & Trucking is a specialized carrier delivering refrigerated freight nationwide. Starting small in the Midwest, it grew into a major player in the continental containerized beef and pork export market, shipping for some of North America's largest names in protein and food production. The company prides itself on well maintained equipment and dependable service from drivers and staff, many of whom have stayed for years.
Cassandra Ridder joined as Recruiting Manager in March 2019. It was her first recruiting role, though she brought years of transportation behind it. "I've been in transportation for five years. I was in risk management and safety at my previous employer." Since safety departments often handle driver recruiting at trucking companies, the move came naturally. She fills driver seats for refrigerated freight and container shipping, making sure candidates carry the right licensure and endorsements.
She manages the full cycle — posting jobs, checking her Tenstreet ATS for new candidates, interviewing, running drug and fitness testing, collecting new hire paperwork, and onboarding. Which leaves almost no time to go out and find candidates herself.

A hundred calls a day, and nobody answering
Pacific Shipping was already running a platform to find drivers when Cassandra arrived, and applicant quality was the first thing she noticed. "The platform takes information from these drivers and shoots them to all of their companies, so everybody would get the same leads. You never got a call back. If drivers did answer, they said that they got over 100 calls today and they weren't interested. It was just a waste of money."
She moved to posting on Indeed instead, and hit the opposite problem: the calls stopped being wasted, but the applications barely came at all.

They actually answer
When an Array HQ sales rep got in touch, Cassandra was ready to try something else. She tested the platform, and inside a month the difference showed up in two places at once — how responsive drivers were, and who was applying. "The quality of drivers is much better as well, they seem to have better work history."
"Every single person that I've called from Array HQ actually answers and already knows about the company. They are true direct leads."
She now sources from Array HQ and Facebook alone, and every seat is filled. The process itself went from disorganized and time consuming to fast enough that she can work the gaps, using the client portal to revisit earlier applicants during slow stretches. "If I am having a couple of slow days, then I'm able to go back and touch base with a couple of those applicants that I've talked to in the past." Both the sales and account teams stay easy to reach and quick to adjust her postings.
"Array HQ has exceeded my expectations for sure," Cassandra said. She now recommends it to other trucking recruiters — and when a strong candidate applies with no seat open, she works to connect them with other carriers who need drivers.
