How HomeDeliveryLink Gets 10x More Qualified Candidates with Array HQ

HomeDeliveryLink gets ten times more qualified candidates from Array HQ than it did from Indeed. Chris, the company's Director of Compliance, also runs all of its recruitment advertising — a job that used to take up to 40% of his week.

Established in 1996 in Southern California, HomeDeliveryLink is a family owned provider of final mile delivery for large furniture and appliances across the U.S. Its operations depend heavily on recruiting qualified delivery contractors — often small incorporated entities — and the company knows how much a single strong hire shifts its operations.

Sourcing those contractors had been a persistent struggle. Chris, the Director of Compliance, wears a lot of hats across the organization, including managing all recruitment advertising. Before Array HQ he relied on local classified ads alongside Indeed, Monster, and social media.

Unqualified applicants and a shrinking candidate pool made those methods less effective over time, which pushed him to look for something to supplement the strategy. What appealed about Array HQ was running across advertising channels without adding to the work of managing each platform separately.

Forty percent of a week, back

"Array HQ manages a lot of work for us," Chris said. "Before Array HQ, I spent 30% or 40% of my time just managing the traffic from those ads."

Array HQ's programmatic job advertising runs across channels on a single workflow, built on data gathered over more than a decade in digital job advertising. For a director already splitting his attention across compliance and operations, consolidating four platforms into one was the difference between recruitment advertising being a second job and being a task.

The account management side mattered as much as the technology. Chris credits the team for responsiveness and proactive support, noting they consistently understood what he needed and stayed available. "I really appreciate the services, and you are always available and are doing a nice job."

The toughest assignments, on purpose

HomeDeliveryLink's qualification requirements and the regions it operates in make contractor recruiting genuinely difficult. Chris didn't ease Array HQ in gently.

"I explained to Array HQ that I'm giving them our toughest assignments where the churn rate is high, and they help us perpetually find qualified candidates," he said. Even in the hardest locations, the leads came back noticeably stronger.

"The quality of the candidates that we get with Array HQ is much higher than Indeed, and delivers 10x the number of qualified candidates that meet our requirements," Chris said. He credits the omnichannel network with reaching an audience that had gone untouched by his previous approach. "Array HQ's understanding of what we're looking for helps to filter out some of the noise, providing us with more qualified applicants."

"Knowing that Array HQ can use all the different channels and just kind of take that work and run with it was very appealing," Chris said. "We gave it a go and had success." Request a demo to see what recruitment advertising or outsourced recruiting can do for your contractor pipeline.
