How BAYADA Home Health Care Found Fresh Nursing Candidates with Array HQ

BAYADA has a large enough footprint in New Jersey that its recruiters kept meeting the same candidates. Jessica Wishkoff, an Area Recruiting Manager across ten of those locations, says Array HQ brought in people the company had never spoken to before.

BAYADA Home Health Care is an international provider of home health services, founded in Philadelphia in 1975 by Mark Baiada. Now headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey, BAYADA exists to help people live safely at home with comfort, independence, and dignity. It operates from offices in 23 states and serves clients in the United States, India, Ireland, South Korea, and Germany, employing nurses, home health aides, and therapists to care for children and adults in their homes.

Ten of BAYADA's New Jersey locations have used Array HQ for about nine months to find and hire qualified nurses. The company turned to it because home care nurses are hard to find in a tight market where hospital pay runs higher and many nursing graduates don't know home care is an option at all.

Jessica Wishkoff is an Interim Director and Area Recruiting Manager for one of BAYADA's New Jersey divisions, reporting to Division Director Tim Wimberly. A former director with a Master's in Social Work, she joined BAYADA because her interviewers had been with the company for years — "always a really good sign." Today she spends much of her time working with recruiters at other BAYADA offices, sharpening their skills and keeping the candidate experience consistent across locations.

"My position has developed into much more of an advocate and a mentor, but I've never felt as passionate about recruiting as I do now," Wishkoff said.

Prospects we've never spoken with before

Wishkoff remembers overseeing recruiters who combed the internet for candidates, then called to pitch the job. Those slow days are gone. BAYADA turned to Array HQ specifically to find candidates who weren't "the usual suspects."

"Being such a big company with a large footprint in this market, we're typically getting the same clients or same prospects over and over again," Wishkoff said. "I've noticed with Array HQ that we're getting prospects we've never spoken with before. That's a big plus and a big opportunity for us."

Reaching them means meeting them where they already are. "Array HQ's technology keeps us at the same level as our prospects," said Division Director Tim Wimberly. "They're not reading the newspaper looking for jobs. They're searching online and on their cell phones." In the past month alone, 70% of BAYADA's applications came through mobile.

Built for nurses, not accountants

Wishkoff values the control. "I can look at Array HQ's analytic reports to see which campaigns are getting the best response and which are not generating hits," she said. "We can tweak those right away because we're not bound by a contract of your ad has to be out there for X number of days, and you can't tweak it."

The same responsiveness extends to support. "When I give them feedback that something's not working, they usually have a solution to change it," she said. "If I say this application question is not working and we need to figure it out, they fix it. If I'm on the dashboard and I want different information, they resolve that. They are only getting better and smarter to help us recruit nurses."

What she keeps coming back to is the focus. "There are a lot of recruiting resources and tools for white collar jobs. There aren't many recruiting resources specifically for nursing and healthcare. When I research online, I've noticed that I get redirected, and suddenly they're talking about hiring accountants or something. Array HQ is focused on us, and I like that."
